Walter Crane
Artist, designer and socialist, by Greg Smith and Sarah Hyde, eds. (Lund Humphries, 1989)

Primarily a catalogue for an exhibition at the Whitworth in early 1989, the book contains a series of short essays, followed by the catalogue proper, tidily divided into different media; it's a good series of snapshots illustrating Crane's achievement. His paintings receive appropriate weight, but the book is not very satisfactory if these are your primary interest: and there are only a few colour plates.       Locate a copy of this book at Alibris
