Victorian and Edwardian Paintings in the Lady Lever Art Gallery
Edward Morris (National Museums & Galleries on Merseyside and HMSO, 1994)

A very detailed survey of the contents of the The Lady Lever Art Gallery, which is especially strong on contemporary comment on the pictures. However, the coverage is sometimes unexpected: the 'early Pre-Raphaelites' are excluded, while some of the pictures that are described were painted as late as the Thirties; and there have also been changes to stock at the Lady Lever since publication in 1994 (e.g. transfers to the Walker).       Locate a copy of this book at Alibris
