Adjoining the rather nice parks that are in the centre of Southampton, there is on-street parking outside and at weekends you have a reasonable chance of finding a space. The railway and bus stations are also fairly close.    The gallery is active in organizing exhibitions, but nevertheless there is usually a selection from the permanent collection on display, including Burne-Jones' 'Perseus series'.
