Cecil Higgins was a brewer who donated his house, brewery and art collection to the town. The house is refurbished 'as was', while a modern extension is used for exhibitions, including selections from the permanent collection, which is known for its watercolours.    The gallery is located to the east of the town, just off the Embankment and near to the Swan Hotel.
