The Walker Art Gallery
Liverpool

A contemporary of many of the pictures that it houses, the Walker opened in 1877. It is the grand 'civic revival' building that you would expect.
The Walker is within walking distance of the main railway terminus (Liverpool Lime Street), and also the Wirral line, which goes under the Mersey and thus connects it with the Lady Lever, where parking is a lot easier.
